The island is surrounded by open floodplains and the camp itself is largely built in and around the shade of some large Mangosteen, Ebony and Fig trees – overlooking a wonderful floodplain teeming with game.

Accommodation

The camp has nine luxuriously furnished tents with 2 x ¾ twin beds in each tent, raised off the ground. Custom-made linen enables twin beds to be converted into a kingsized bed on request. The guests’ rooms and connecting walkways that connect are up to two metres off the ground, allowing game to wander freely through the camp while at the same time allowing for guest safety. One often finds that animals take refuge under the rooms. The canvas rooms are spacious and well appointed and have en-suite facilities with an additional outdoor shower for those who enjoy a shower under the stars. This camp can accommodate 18 guests with tour leader and 1 twin guide tent.

Tent details

Bathrooms all en-suite, showers inside tent and also outdoors.

Separate flush toilet

Luxury tents on raised decks overlooking the surrounding plains

Entrance to tent has door not zip

Veranda in front of tent

Fans in all tents

Soaps, shampoos and insect repellents are supplied in each room

Facilities

Dining room, lounge and pub on raised deck under thatch

Separate reading room/library

Walkways connect rooms to living area

Plunge pool

Curio shop

Slide projector available

Kgotla (boma) for dining under the stars.

Activities

Type – 100% Game drives, No water activities although guests will see water.
